These protest banner replicas are located outside the Newseum, a museum of the news media. An absolutely fascinating museum; I highly recommend a visit.
It's probably a sad commentary on today's society that my first thoughts on seeing this display was not of Susan B. Anthony or any other leaders of the suffragette movement; it was of Mary Poppins chanting "Votes for Women, Step in Time" as the children and the Master march behind her around the house. Even more sadly, my second thought was of a little video of old suffragette footage that is displayed in part of the "Civilization II" computer game.
I thought the "Dirty Pool" signs were quite amusing.
